Dear Society of Energy Fellows member,
I am writing to share with you an important change we have made to what was previously known as the Society of Energy Fellows at MIT. Going forward, this community’s name will be the Society of Energy Scholars at MIT. Nothing else about the Society or its members is changing. The Society of Energy Scholars remains a global network of more than 500 MIT students and alumni who are dedicated to expediting a global transition to low-carbon solutions.
We have made this change to differentiate members of the Society of Energy Scholars, who are employed by MIT as research assistants, from other MIT Fellows, who receive funding from the Institute, but are not employed by the Institute.
You will see this name change reflected on the MITEI website, the Society of Energy Scholars LinkedIn page, and all official Society communications. Thank you for your continued work to advance the energy transition.
Best regards,
William H. Green
