MIT Program at IHS Energy CERAWeek 2016: “Energy Transition: Strategies for a New World”

We are pleased to invite you to the Thursday and Friday sessions of the IHS Energy CERAWeek 2016 – IHS CERA’s 35th annual Executive Conference at the Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas, Feb 25-26, 2016, with complimentary (free) MIT Alumni registration for the MIT program (starting 2pm Feb 25 through Feb 26.)

MIT will again have an entire plenary session, co-hosted by Dan Yergin, CERAWeek Chairman, and Robert Armstrong SM’97, MITEI Director: “Frontiers of Science and Innovation: Future Technologies to Meet the Energy & Climate Challenge – the View from MIT.”

U.S. Senators John Cornyn, Majority Whip of the United States Senate (Texas), and Lisa Murkowski, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee (Alaska), will immediately follow our session with a discussion on The US & Global Energy Future. Finally, MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI) has arranged space for up to 100 MIT alumni to join us for the session – and for most of Thursday and Friday.

Afternoon sessions starting at 2pm and evening sessions including the MITEI reception and conference wide dinner

Participating MIT alumni will be able to attend CERAWeek starting at 2pm on Thursday.

This includes the dinner keynote address from J.B. Straubel, Chief Technology Officer at Tesla, who will cover mobility, storage, and the grid.

New this year, Lou Carranza, Associate Director and former co-chair of CERAWeek, will host the MIT Energy Initiative reception at 6:30 pm, just prior to the Thursday night dinner keynote address.
