Comparative Assessment of Fuel Cell Cars

February 2003

More information:

A continuation of previous work, the study provides a comparative analysis of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to conventional internal combustion and hybrid engines, examining both life-cycle energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. The analysis is based on projected improvements to the technologies through the year 2020. The study finds no significant projected difference in energy use or greenhouse emissions between fuel cell and hybrid technology during this time period.
