Rowan Elowe

Director of Education
MIT Energy Initiative

As director of education at the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), Rowan Elowe designs and oversees educational pathways preparing MIT students and global learners to accelerate the energy transition. This includes administering MITEI’s Energy Studies Minor degree, coordinating undergraduate research opportunities, supporting the Energy Scholars program, and producing online energy courses for global audiences.

Elowe brings a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and global education, with a master’s in environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School and a bachelor’s in philosophy from Wheaton College (MA). Prior to joining MITEI, he worked across the nonprofit and academic sectors in areas including water conservation policy, public education and communications, and marketing/fundraising. Leveraging this experience, Elowe facilitates transformative experiences connecting academia, industry, and policy to empower future leaders in clean energy.
